MELAYANI BUKAN UNTUK DILAYANI

PENDAHULUAN 
      
Kalimat MELAYANI BUKAN UNTUK DILAYANI sepintas kedengarannya sangat rohani, benar apabila dipahami dari perspektif  kehendak Tuhan Yesus bagi murid-murid-Nya, tetapi bila diperhatikan konteks dari teks Firman Tuhan Markus 10:35-45 terlihat bahwa Tuhan Yesus sedang memberikan “kuliah” kepada murid-muridnya terutama Yakobus dan Yohanes yang sangat berambisi untuk “merebut” kekuasaan, dengan kata lain mereka menginginkan “kursi” yang bukan diperuntukan bagi mereka, karena kuasa yang mereka inginkan adalah milik Tuhan Yesus.

PENDAHULUAN
            Tulisan ini adalah sebuah refleksi teologis -Yesus sebagai terang dunia- fungsi aplikatif penyuluh agama kristen.   Bertitik tolak dari judul materi pembinaan yang diberikan oleh Kementrian Agama kantor wilayah DKI Jakarta pada pelaksanaan pembinaan Penyuluh Agama Kristen di Bogor kali ini, maka penulis mengawali tulisan ini dengan membahas tentang Misi Kristus dalam dunia, Yesus adalah terang dan Yesus sebagai penyuluh.

Background
Gospel of Matthew was written to Jewish believers. Jewish Background of the Gospel can be understood in many ways, which is dependent on revelation, promises, and prophecies of the Old Testament to prove that Jesus was the Messiah who had long awaited.
Even so, the Gospel is not solely for Jews. As the mandate of Jesus himself, the Gospel of Matthew in fact addressed to the gentile, and the universal scope of the Gospels (eg Matthew 2:1-12, Matthew 8:11-12, Matthew 13:38, Matthew 21:43, Matthew 28 :18-20).

A. BACKGROUND

1. Geographical Location

Nias Island is an island geographically separated from Sumatera and the other islands. Geographically Nias Island is in the position: The island lies in the west coast of the Indonesia archipelago which lies on 0-12 up to 1-3 north latitude and 97-98 west longitude, stretching north west with a varying height of 0-800 meters on the surface and borders:
On the south : borders with many islands (Aceh special province)
On the south : borders with the islands of Mentawai (West Sumatera province)
On the west : borders with Hindia island.
The breadth of Nias II Level Regency is 5.318 square meters out of 17 regencies. Population 702.000 people.

Introduction
Sometimes in every single day life, in serving God, questions arise - as in doubt - in our hearts. Am I called by God to serve Him?, If it is true that I was called by God what is His signs?
Romans 8:28. We know now, that God works in all things for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. The Word of God mentioned above is the affirmation for all of us in serving the Lord, do not need to hesitate and falter on the duties and responsibilities which we carry in service. Romans 8:28 For the confirmation of God, which He calls us to serve Him.
